Caroline Bentley, MA, LMFT - Program Director
​
Caroline is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience in the behavioral health field. Throughout her career, she has worked in diverse settings, including inpatient treatment, private practice, intensive outpatient services, and
community mental health. Caroline possesses extensive clinical training and expertise in treating both mental health and substance use disorders. She takes a holistic, evidence-based, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, emphasizing a harm reduction model that meets clients where they are on their unique paths to recovery and wellness.

Ian Johnson, MD - Medical Director

Dr. Johnson is Board-certified in Family Practice and Obesity Medicine, with Fellowship certifications in Primary Care Psychiatry and Primary Care Pain Management. He is also a Certified Medical Review Officer.

With a distinguished career as a primary care physician, Dr. Johnson is an expert in addiction medicine and the treatment of substance use disorders. He advocates for quality assurance and improvement in primary care delivery and provides expert evaluations for nurses in substance use treatment to the California Board of Registered Nursing. Dr. Johnson is known for his warm, compassionate approach and commitment to holistic, person-centered care.

A proud US military veteran, Dr. Johnson served as an active-duty flight surgeon in the US Air Force and taught combat life support in the US Army Reserves, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Elena Ginn, CMHT - Admissions Coordinator​​
Elena has an associates degree in Business Administration and is a Certified Mental Health Technician. She is a compassionate and empathetic professional, with a strong commitment to supporting individuals in their behavioral health journey. Known for her warm, approachable nature, she excels in creating a safe and supportive environment for clients.
Originally from San Jose and now living in Elk Grove, Elena is an alumni of SagePoint Behavioral Health and continues to be an inspiration to those in recovery, as well as anyone seeking overall health and wellness. Elena is a proud mom, a San Francisco 49ers fan, and an avid nature-lover. In her spare time she also loves cooking, puzzling and anything creative!

Daniella Basin, MA, LMFT - Therapist

Daniella Basin, LMFT graduated from Loma Linda University with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and a certificate in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Daniella possesses experience working high-acuity clients with co-occurring mental health disorders in a residential treatment setting. Daniella holds a deep passion for supporting individuals in their unique recovery process. Her therapeutic style is grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth and change, and she works collaboratively with her clients to help them tap into their own innate wisdom and resources. Daniella's clinical approach is rooted in safety, trustworthiness, and warmth. Daniella is committed to providing my clients with a safe space to explore their emotions and experiences without judgment.

Amber Laurie, MA, ACSW - Therapist

Amber's goal in therapy is to support clients as they embrace their story and practice self-love and acceptance. Reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating, and she strives to create a safe space where clients can identify their goals and make meaningful, values-based changes toward a fulfilling life.​​

She has experience working with individuals in recovery from eating disorders, substance use, and trauma. Using a blend of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, she helps clients achieve their therapy goals. She is also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy for treating PTSD. Her approach is strength-based, empowering clients to identify their core values and overcome barriers that prevent them from living in alignment with those values. She looks forward to supporting clients on their journey of growth, healing, and bravery.

Julia Origel, BA - Therapist Intern​
Julia graduated from CSU Stanislaus in 2022 with a Bachelor’s in psychology. She is currently a graduate student with Sacramento State’s Counselor Education program with a concentration in rehabilitation. She has previously worked as a cofacilitator with Jessica’s House, providing grief support to children and teens, an experience that inspired her to continue supporting those with a substance use or mental health disorder.
Julia is passionate and motivated to support her clients through their journey. In her free time, Julia enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her friends.

Isabelle Lambirth, BA - Therapist Intern

Isabelle graduated from Sacramento State with a bachelor’s in psychology in 2022. She is currently a graduate student in the Counseling Education program at Sacramento State. She is seeking to obtain a license in Marriage and Family therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. She previously served as an AM Coordinator / Residential Counselor at the Sacramento Children’s Home STRTP. Isabelle has volunteered at Sutter Health’s Children’s Bereavement Art Group for 6 years and found immense passion in supporting families experiencing grief.​

Isabelle was born and raised in Sacramento and has a tremendous passion for supporting her community. She has an extensive background working with non-profit and youth development organizations. She wishes to work more with all populations and experiences.

In her free time, she enjoys spending it outdoors, going on hikes, driving to the beach, camping, and paddleboarding. She finds being outdoors or relaxing and reading a book the perfect way to practice self care and ground herself.”

Vanessa Slavelon, MA, AMFT - Therapist

​​Vanessa is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist with experience working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, polysubstance use disorders, addiction, codependency, grief/loss, suicidal ideation and relationship problems within couples. Prior to becoming a therapist, Vanessa worked in healthcare specifically in business development for 10 years working with geriatric patients in hospice, home health, skilled nursing and senior living. Now as a clinician, Vanessa is honored to work with individuals, families, couple's and groups to help individuals manage their mental health symptoms. She incorporates a variety of modalities into treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-focused Therapy, Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and person-centered modalities. She looks forward to working with you and wishes you the best in your journey.

Alex Agramonte, MA - Doctoral Psychology Intern

Alex is a 4th-year clinical psychology doctoral (PsyD) trainee with experience providing therapy for children and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, workplace stress, academic stress, relationship issues, and family challenges. He is trained in psychological assessments and specialized therapies, such as Brainspotting and Neurofeedback. With an MBA and over 15 years in the financial and public sectors, Alex is particularly aware of the impact of work-related stress on mental health.

In addition to working with individuals, couples, and families, Alex, as a first-generation American with a Latino background, is committed to supporting those affected by racism and systemic oppression. This can manifest both through overt harm and subtle microaggressions.

Alex believes therapy is a space for growth, healing, and empowerment. He helps clients build resilience and navigate change without judgment, using strategies like CBT, Mindfulness, Brainspotting, Person-Centered, and Strengths-Based approaches. Therapy can involve confronting the unknown, but it offers the opportunity to understand your truth, your worth, and your role in the lives of others.

Monica Burford, LCSW - Couple's Therapist

Monica Burford, LMFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#109798) based in Sacramento, California. She helps couples build healthier, more fulfilling relationships by teaching them how to manage conflict constructively, foster mutual respect, and rediscover the joy in their partnership. Monica has received extensive training in the Gottman Method, a research-backed approach to couples therapy, which she uses to create an educational group experience for couples looking to improve their relationship skills in a structured setting. Through this group, couples learn practical tools for improving communication, increasing emotional connection, and navigating challenges together. Whether couples are overcoming specific issues or simply want to invest in the health of their relationship, Monica is committed to guiding them toward a stronger, more resilient partnership.
Monica has been with her husband for 14 years, married for 7, and they have two wonderful daughters, both under 5 years old. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, baking, and indoor rock climbing. Monica looks forward to getting to know new clients and collaborating with them on their journey.
